Adverse effects of the use of mobile phones inconclusive

The LPRA notes a recent Press Release from the World Health Organisation regarding the potential effects of the use of mobile phones on human brain cancer rates.  The WHO reached a conclusion, after reviewing hundreds of scientific articles, that the use of Mobile Phones is ‘possibly carcinogenic to human beings’, and made a recommendation ‘that additional research be conducted into the long-term heavy use of mobile phones’.  The LPRA would point out that the vast majority of equipments produced and supplied by our members is either significantly lower in power level, or used at considerably greater distances from the brain (and in most cases both of these mitigating conditions apply) than Mobile Phones.
