As a subscriber of LPRA Wireless eNews you will know that it is a monthly eNewsletter based on the long running LPRA eNews, an exclusive publication for members of the Low Power Radio Association.    The Association have very kindly been sponsoring your free lite version of the publication so that non-members could also benefit from it as a monthly source of wireless industry news.

 

This free trial period comes to an end on 1st January 2022, the December 2021 issue will be the last edition you will receive.

EC HAS ADOPTED RED DEL ACT ON CYBERSECURITY

As we informed members recently, the European Commission has adopted today the RED Delegated Act on cybersecurity (please see link to PDF below). The dossier will be sent to the European Parliament and to the Council for scrutiny before entry into force. So this RED Delegated Act is progressing through the system and likely to complete later this year. Further details can be found on this link HERE

UPDATE : RADIO EQUIPMENT DIRECTIVE DELEGATED ACTS

On the 12th October 2021, the Secretariat sent all members some 'not for public’ information relating to proposed changes to the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) modification of Art 3.3a “common charger” and Delegated Acts 3.3(d),(e) and RED Delegated Acts 3.3(i),Art 4 for Reconfigurable Radio Systems. These came from the RED Expert Group attended by members of the LPRA Council. We will of course keep you full informed of all developments.

FCC PROPOSED RULE-MAKING LEVYING FEE

The LPRA recently responded to the FCC’s proposed rule- making: FR Doc No: 2021-20125. "The LPRA objects to the proposed levying of fees on equipment communicating by licence-exempt technology, as it is difficult to enforce and will likely have unintended consequences in the US mar-ket.” You can read the LPRA’s full response on the following link.
