Mike Brookes retires as Chairman of the LPRA
As many of you will know earlier this year Mike Brookes finally managed to retire. He had been Chairman of the LPRA since 1997 (at which time he was Managing Director of PACS Ltd.). Subsequently Mike became the full time representative of the LPRA. Mike took the problems, needs and views of the SRD industry to the national regulators, ETSI and the EU Commission and served on a number of important European committees of vital interest to the SRD world. Through his work the LPRA is now recognised by the EC and CEPT as the voice of the SRD community in Europe.
Upon his retirement the Council made a number of presentations to Mike, including some wine and wine glasses. In addition they particularly wanted to award this year’s annual Lionel Tye trophy to Mike as a special tribute to his work as Chairman of the LPRA.
